The concept of a seasonal wardrobe is something I vaguely remember from a time long, long ago, when I lived in the northeastern U.S. in a place with seasons that clearly broke between hot and cold. Now that we’re in the Midwest, my kids actually need spring and summer clothes!

To get their warm-weather wardrobes started without too much expense, I stuck mostly to affordable styles from Carters and Old Navy. Some of my selections (and/or similar favorites):

Tutu Tank Dress, $14-18

Jersey Skort, $8.94

Scoop-Back Fit & Flare Dress, $10.99 (regularly $12.94)

Plaid Romper, $9 (regularly $18)

Buffalo Check Romper, $9 (regularly $18)

Pull-On Cargo Shorts, $7 (regularly $18)

3-Piece Little Character Set, $6.60 (regularly $22)

Striped Sleeveless Bodysuit, $5 (regularly $12)
